The Giving Tree Development Center Procedures
Child Check-in Procedures:
- A temperature check will be taken prior to any child or staff entering the facility with a non-contact thermometer.
- A visual inspection will be conducted of your child(ren) for signs of illness.
- If any child is sick that child will not be able to enter the facility and must follow the CDC recommendations.
- When your child enters the facility they will take off their coats, jacket, and shoes.
- Each child will be given a pair of non-slip socks.
- Each child will wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds immediately entering the facility.
- Nonstaff will not be allowed to enter the facility only in designated check-in areas to decrease interaction with staff & children.
Parents Procedures:
- Parents are required to wear their own face masks while at the centers.
- All parents and teachers follow social distancing procedures.
- Parents are required to sign off on our sick child policy and communicate with the center if they suspect anyone in their family has COVID-19 or has been exposed.
Teachers/Center Procedures:
- We will attempt to limit group sizes and/or maintain single teacher classrooms where possible for as long as possible.
- Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces like doorknobs, tables, countertops, and handrails. Teachers do this every day during nap time. Extra staff clean and disinfect throughout the day. We also have additional cleaning personnel who clean after hours.
- Each time they clock in, Staff take their temperature and respond to a questionnaire to make sure it is safe for them to stay at the center.
- Cooks will wear face masks and continue to wear gloves when preparing food.
- Family-style food serving has been discontinued. Teachers prepare each child’s plate using gloves so there is no sharing of serving utensils.
- Where napping mats/cots are used, children will be arranged head to toe and kept 6 feet apart if possible. Mats and cots are cleaned and sanitized after each use.
- We are limiting visitors and vendors to our program. We are currently closed to in-person tours but we are offering virtual tours.
- Air purifiers with a UVC sterilizer will be used to help clean the air and increase circulation.
- No field trips, but we will have LOTS of fun in the sun!
